Advent blessings to you. In this season of hope and anticipation, our hope for you is that you feel the fullness of God's love. We also hope you know how much we appreciate you.
Those of us who enjoy the privilege of working at Whitworth want this school to be known for its commitment to excellence. Professors, students, musical groups, athletic teams, staff members, facilities and everything we do should reflect that commitment. It is one of the ways we honor God. I've talked a lot about excellence since I arrived at Whitworth in 1993. It was here when I arrived, and I have watched it spread.
Over the past several weeks, you have heard from some members of the Whitworth community. Each has offered a glimpse into the ways in which your support has provided a margin of excellence. I hope these messages have also reminded you that our best asset is our mission. Like excellence, we want our mission on the face and in the heart of everything we do. Again, your support has enabled us to lift high this mission of mind and heart.
So my concluding message is simply one of thanks. If it weren't for the support of people like you, Whitworth could not sustain its current level of excellence. Even our mission would be affected. For example, we provide training in what could be called "mission orientation" for new faculty, and for all faculty we make research funds available to study faith-learning relationships in their disciplines. We rely on your gifts to The Whitworth Fund when we budget these and other day-to-day operating expenses.
On behalf of all of the members of the Whitworth community, but especially on behalf of our students, thank you so much for sharing our commitment to excellence and for bringing Whitworth within financial reach for all of those in pursuit of the mind-and-heart education that Whitworth provides. |

The reasons for supporting Whitworth are many, and the ways in which Whitworth benefits are just as numerous.
Whatever your reason for giving, we are grateful - especially as we know that in addition to offering your financial gifts, you support our campus with your prayers and advocacy of our mission.
