Shalom Community Center
The Shalom Community Center (SCC) was started in fall 2008, when Whitworth purchased and renovated the Cornerstone property and transformed the building into a multi-discipline living/learning community, administrative offices, a dance studio, and banquet rooms. The SCC houses up to 22 sophomore-through-senior class students who apply to live in the two-person rooms, each with its own private bathroom and air conditioning.
SCC is administered by two graduate assistant ministry interns and with a mission of seeking shalom -- the restoration of right relationships between God, neighbor, self and creation. Residents challenge each other to grow in their relationships with God through Christ and to develop and pursue their passions for living holistically. This is done through living in an intentional community where residents share a weekly meal, prayer, worship and mutual support through living life together.
Application guidelines for living in the house are found here.
