What Has Whitworth Given You?

Responses
From Alumni…

"Whitworth gave me several things. The top three are the ability to work hard in my strengths and have friends/co-workers who compliment me well--> No matter the subject area, work, faith, fun etc. Two is the knowledge to have been top of my doctorate program as well as a guiding path towards being a great doctor. Most of all Whitworth gave me friends who I know were put in my life to help me be a better person."

"One thing I learned while at Whitworth that has struck me again and again in these short five months since I graduated is just how apt St. Augustine's insights are about human love. Augustine talked about how all human attempts at loving others or God inevitably are corrupted by our fallen nature, and turn into various forms of self-love and a kind of idolatry wherein individuals essentially seek to become their own gods. It all hearkens back to the fall in the first place. I see it in me, and I see it in the world around me. That's my two cents."

"I wasn't raised in the church or in a Christian Home so Whitworth provided countless opportunities for spiritual growth, from dorm small groups to mentoring relationships to community service opportunities. Whitworth Staff and Faculty helped lay a foundation of learning and character formation and I'm pleased to share that I'm on the path to earning my credentials as a minister with the Assemblies of God in early spring 2010! Thank you Lord for YOUR way and YOUR timing! And thank you Whitworth faculty and staff for your prayers, time, grace, energy, examples and fun!"
