SPOKANE, Wash. - Chad Flett has been named to the 2008 All-Northwest Conference Baseball team, and five of his teammates received honorable mention consideration to the team.

Flett (Sr., Util./RHP, Spokane, Wash. - CC of Spokane / Mead) played in 38 games for the Pirates, starting 11 games as a pitcher and starting the rest at second base, outfield or as designated hitter. As a pitcher he finished the season with a 4-6 record (3-5 vs. NWC), including a season-opening victory over NAIA power Lewis-Clark State. He batted .276 with five doubles, a home runs, 12 runs batted in and 15 runs scored. He stole five bases in seven attempts.
Dan Ramsay (Jr., C, Spokane, Wash. - Gonzaga Univ. / Mead) received honorable mention consideration as a catcher. He batted .315 and led the team with 24 runs driven in. Jon Whiteside (Sr., SS, Yakima, Wash. - CC of Spokane / Eisenhower) received honorable mention consideration as a shortstop. He batted .317 and led the Pirates with 29 runs scored and 11 doubles. Mitch Ramsay (Jr., OF, Spokane, Wash. - Blue Mountain CC / Mead) was given honorable mention consideration as a designated hitter after leading the Pirates in batting average (.336). Ryan Snell (Sr., RHP, Issaquah, Wash. - Bellevue CC) was given honorable mention consideration as a starting pitcher. Dan Belet (So., OF, Missoula, Mont. - Hellgate) received honorable mention consideration as an outfielder. He batted .293 and was second on the team with 21 runs scored. The Pirates finished 2008 with a 13-27 record, including a 12-20 mark (7th place) in the NWC. |
