SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth University head baseball coach Dan Ramsay has announced the transfer of two key players for the incoming class of 2008-09. Chris Bartenhagen (Jr., C, Gilbert, Ariz.) is transferring to Whitworth from New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, N.M. Bartenhagen started all 56 games for the two-year school with a batting average of .301 this spring. He was a team co-captain for the Broncos and an honorable mention all-conference selection. He graduated from Rio Rancho High School in New Mexico, but also had experience playing in Montana’s American Legion system for the Missoula Mavericks. Ryan Reitmeier (Jr., RHP, Medical Lake, Wash.) is transferring to Whitworth after playing two seasons for the Community Colleges of Spokane. His two seasons with the Sasquatch followed Most Valuable Player honors at Medical Lake High School in 2006. |
