SPOKANE, Wash. - The Whitworth-Linfield Northwest Conference baseball series that had been postponed from March 7-8 to May 2-3 will now be played March 8-9 in McMinnville, Oregon.

After the change of dates was approved, it was discovered that the postponement moved the games outside the 19-week regular season limit, as mandated by NCAA Division III membership.

"We applied for a waiver from the NCAA to have the games played in May, but we would not hear back on that application for another week," said Scott McQuilkin, Whitworth's Director of Athletics. "Therefore the best chance of completing this series is to play it Sunday and Monday at Linfield."

Whitworth will still be considered the "home" team and bat last in all four contests. Sunday's double-header will begin at noon, while Monday's games will get underway at 10:00 a.m.
