SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth's Chad Flett has been named First Team All-Northwest Conference in baseball for the second consecutive season, while Mitch Ramsay and Kyle Krustangel are honorable mention honorees for the Pirates in 2009. Flett (Sr., P/IF, Spokane, Wash.) is on the First Team again as a utility player. He went 3-2 on the mound with a 4.85 earned run average in seven starts against NWC opponents. Flett struck out 33 batters in 42 innings and tossed three complete games. He also batted .386 with 11 runs batted in and 14 runs scored while playing in the field. He had two home runs and two doubles. Flett was also the First Team utility player in 2008. Ramsay (Sr., OF, Spokane, Wash.) was only able to play in 14 NWC games before a knee injury ended his season. During those 14 games he batted .382 with 10 RBIs and seven runs scored. He had a home run, a triple, and two doubles. Krustangel (Jr., Spokane, Wash.) was an honorable mention selection as a designated hitter. In 2009 he batted .316 and drove in 10 runs. Whitworth finished the season with a 10-26 record, 8-20 in the NWC. |
