SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth University had six players participate in summer developmental baseball leagues throughout the west. The Pirate coaching staff worked hard to secure spots for its players in collegiate leagues over the off-season. "The summer is an important time for a player to continue developing his skills," said Whitworth head coach Dan Ramsay. "Our players will compete in a number of different leagues this year." Two players competed in the Boise Summer League. Jake Hanley (So., RHP, Mill Creek, Wash.) played for the Wilson Bulldogs, while Marlowe Peter (So., C, Boise, Idaho) played for the Outlaws. Nathan Johnson (Sr., RHP/IF, Colfax, Wash.) played for the Moses Lake Pirates in the West Coast Collegiate League. Tom Banta (Jr., RHP, Lake Oswego, Ore.) and Eric Anderson (Sr., RHP, Vashon Island, Wash.) played for the Dukes of the West Coast League - Portland. Ben George (Sr., RHP, Vancouver, Wash.) played for the Ports in the same league. |
