SPOKANE, WASH. -- After leading the Northwest Conference in scoring this season, Whitworth College's Lance Pecht has been named the NWC Player of the Year and earned his second consecutive selection to the All-NWC First Team. Pecht is joined on the All-NWC Men's Basketball team by George Tucker, who was a Second Team selection, and Bryan Williams, who was an Honorable Mention choice.

Pecht (Sr., F, Spokane, Wash. - West Valley HS/LC State) has averaged 18.8 points per game this season. He has made 57% of his shots from the field and 51% of his tries from three point range. He is also an 82% free throw shooter. Pecht was the Pirates' second-leading rebounder at 6.1 per game. He was named NWC Player of the Week three weeks in a row, all coming during a ten-game Whitworth winning streak that has carried the Pirates to the NWC post-season tournament.

George Tucker (Sr., F, San Ramon, Calif. - California HS/Diablo Valley Coll.) was named to the Second Team, missing the First Team by one point. He averaged 12.7 points per game and 4.3 rebounds. He got to the free throw line more than any other Pirate and made 85% (99-117) of his attempts. He was also second on the team with 74 assists.

Bryan Williams (Jr., G, Colbert, Wash. - Mead HS) was an Honorable Mention member after finishing second in the NWC in assists per game (5.6). He also led the Pirates in steals (39) and made 41% of his three point attempts this year. He has a 10.4 points per game average. Williams has been an honorable mention All-NWC choice two years in a row.

The trio will lead the Pirates into an NWC playoff game against Willamette on Thursday in the Whitworth Fieldhouse. The winner of that game will meet Puget Sound on Saturday in Tacoma for the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III tournament.
