SPOKANE, WASH. -- Adding another feather to his post-season cap, Whitworth College forward Lance Pecht has been named to the D3hoops.com All-West Region First Team, based on voting by regional sports information directors.

Pecht (Sr., F, Spokane, Wash. - West Valley HS/LC State) was named Northwest Conference Player of the Year after leading the NWC in scoring average at 18.8 points per game. He made 57% of his shots from the field and 51% of his tries from three point range. He was also an 81% free throw shooter and the Pirates' second-leading rebounder at 6.1 per game. He was named NWC Player of the Week three weeks in a row, all coming during a ten-game Whitworth winning streak that carried the Pirates to the NWC post-season tournament. He scored an NWC-high 38 points in a win at Lewis & Clark on February 4th.

Players were nominated by the SIDs at the various schools and a total of 599 players were nominated nationwide. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for 10 players in their region. SIDs voted for six frontcourt players and four backcourt players and the top vote-getters at each position were named to the All-Region team.

Pecht led Whitworth to a 20-7 record in 2005-06 and within a game of the NCAA Division III men's basketball tournament. The Pirates improved by seven wins over 2004-05.
