Click here for complete box score and play by play GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Whitworth College had the tables turned on Saturday in the championship game of the Calvin College Tip Off tournament as the host Knights used a big second half to overturn a Pirate lead and win 82-67 on Saturday afternoon. Whitworth used a 14-3 at the start of the second half to open a 55-43 lead. Jon Young hit three three-pointers during the streak. But Calvin outscored the Pirates 39-12 the rest of the way to claim the tournament championship. The Knights finished the game 24-24 from the free throw line, setting a new school record. Young finished with 15 points, while Bryan Williams added 14 for the Pirates. Lance Pecht scored 13 and added a team high five rebounds. George Tucker finished with 12 points. Calvin got a game-high 25 points from Kyle Trewhella, while Andy Draayer added 22 points and eight rebounds. Josh Meckes led all players with nine boards. Trewhella was named the tournament's MVP. Williams represented Whitworth on the all-tournament team. Calvin, the 2005 NCAA Division III runner up, improved to 2-0. Whitworth is 1-1.
