Click here for complete box score and play by play McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- (From Kelly Bird, Linfield SID) Lance Pecht and Jon Young combined for 50 points, leading Whitworth to a lopsided 100-68 Northwest Conference road victory over Linfield Saturday night at Ted Wilson Gym. Pecht hit 11 of 15 shots to finish with a game-high 27 points. Young added 23 on 7 of 12 shooting. As a team, the Pirates coverted nearly 67 percent of their shots, sinking 38 of 57 attempts. Kevin Hasenfus added 19 points. The Pirates, who forged split on their weekend trip to the Willamette Valley after an overtime loss Friday night at George Fox, sent the Wildcats (1-4, 0-2 NWC) to their fourth straight defeat. Ryan Monagle was the leading scorer for the Wildcats with 13 points. Khaatim Smith had 12 points and Brian Murphy contributed 11. Linfield made just 19 of 56 shots from the field. Halfway through the first period, the Pirates embarked on a 9-2 run, breaking a 14-all tie. Whitworth's lead extended to 11 on Hasenfus' two free throws that made it 36-25 with 3:50 left in the period. The lead stretched to 14 by intermission as the Pirates shot .594 from the field to take a 48-35 margin into the locker room. Young tallied 15 points in the period, connecting on a trio of 3-pointers. Whitworth kept the pressure on in the second half, opening up a 20-point lead with 15 minutes remaining. The Pirates led by 27 with 6 minutes to play. Whitworth next faces UC Santa Cruz Dec. 17 and Cal Lutheran Dec. 18 at the St. Vincent de Paul Invititational in Burlingame, California.
