This game also marks the first time that a father-son combination will suit up for the alumni. Glenn Williams (Bryan's dad) who starred for the Pirates from 1978 through 1981 and is a highly decorated basketball coach at Mead High School, will play for the alumni.

Other members of this version of the alumni squad include 2007 graduate Jon Young, a guard who holds Whitworth records for career and single season three-pointers made and attempted; 2006 graduate George Tucker, a Second Team All-NWC forward during his senior season; Gunner Olson, a 2002 graduate who was a Second Team All-NWC forward; and Greg Jones, who was a Second Team All-NWC forward in 1999 and played on both of Whitworth's NAIA Division II national tournament teams (finals in 1996 and quarterfinals in 1998).

The next official game on the schedule for the Whitworth varsity is December 20th against UC Santa Cruz in Burlingame, California.
