SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth forward Alida Bower has been named Second Team All-Northwest Conference for 2007. The All-NWC list was release today.
Bower, a redshirt sophomore from Onalaska, Washington, was the leading scorer for a young Pirate team that finished 14-11 overall and 8-8 in the NWC. She averaged 13.6 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per contest. She was the second leading scorer in the conference and led the league in three pointers per game. Click here for the entire All-NWC Team: She scored a career-high 25 points in a season-ending victory over Willamette. She opened the season with a career high 12 rebounds in a win over UC Santa Cruz. Bower came all the way back this season from a severe knee injury that ended her 2005-06 campaign early, leading to a medical redshirt granted by the NCAA.
