SPOKANE, Wash. - Tiffany Corigliano had 20 points, 12 rebounds and five assists to lead Whitworth University to an 85-61 win over visiting University of Great Falls in a non-conference women's basketball game on Saturday night at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

Corigliano Had a Career Night for the Bucs

All three individual totals for Corigliano (Jr., F, Nine Mile Falls, Wash.) were career highs. She led a group of four Pirates that reached double figures in scoring. Natalie Orrell (So., F, Wenatchee, Wash.) added 15 points and Courtney Gaddis (Fr., F, Honolulu, Hawaii) came off of the bench for 14 points, the highest total in her short career. Teresa Zeitler (Sr., G, Medical Lake, Wash.) had 10 points and Cassie Snyder (Sr., G, Spokane, Wash.) dished a game-high seven assists.

Jocelyn Moore scored 19 points to lead the Argonauts (5-5) and she added eight rebounds. Laura Keaster scored 16 points and Kassie Holmlund added 12 points and four assists.

The game was decided in the first half when Whitworth (2-2) outscored UGF 45-21. While the Pirates were shooting 46% (16 of 35), the Argos were only hitting 33% (8 of 24) and were 0-9 from three point range. Whitworth outrebounded Great Falls 24-16 and forced 14 turnovers.

Leading 12-9, Whitworth went on a quick 10-0 run that extended the lead to 22-9. Later in the half the Pirates used an 12-0 spurt to open a 36-13 lead and take control of the game.

Great Falls could get as close as 19 points four times in the second half, the final coming after a pair of free throws by Keaster pulled the Argos within 73-54. But Whitworth led by as many as 27 points (69-42) and the deficit was too much to overcome.

The Pirates are now off for two weeks before traveling to Tacoma, Washington to play in the UPS Winter Invitational on December 7th and 8th. Whitworth will play Northwest (Wash.) University on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and UC Santa Cruz on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
