Allan Named AFCA All-American (Again!)
December 11, 2006

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Whitworth College tight end Michael Allan has been named to the 2006 American Football Coaches Association Division III All-America Team, the second consecutive season he has been selected to the exclusive list of players.

Michael Allan

Allan (Sr., TE, Bellevue, Wash. - Interlake) caught 53 passes for 1,100 yards and nine touchdowns this season. He led the Northwest Conference in touchdown receptions and yards per catch (20.8), earning First Team All-NWC honors for the third straight year. He closes his career with school records for touchdown receptions (29) and yards per catch (18.7). Allan is a repeat selection to the D3football.com All-Region team.

No other tight end at the Division III level had more catches or receiving yards.

Allan is one of only two players on the team to repeat, and the only player on the offense to do so. Only defensive back Mario Harris of Wesley was also on the team last year.

Allan helped lead Whitworth to its first-ever 10+ win season (11-1), first outright Northwest Conference title and first post season victory in school history in 2006.
