Q: What was your high school athletic experience like?
A: I went to a small high school (Freeman High School, Division 1A), so I was fortunate enough to be able to play multiple varsity sports for four years. I really enjoyed the support that small towns give their sports teams. It didn’t matter how cold or hot it was, the bleachers where packed year-round. My senior year seemed right out of a movie script - I was given the chance to captain a football team that went undefeated and made it to the state championship game. Right after that I was able finish out my basketball career with a great core of friends who I had played ball with since grade school.

Q: Why did you choose to come to Whitworth?
A: My mother is both an alumn and professor/dean of Whitworth so when I began my college search Whitworth was on top of my list. After visiting and meeting professors in both the math and computer science department I realized that Whitworth would be a good fit for me. Anc talking to the football coach and realizing that I had a chance to keep playing football here sealed the deal.

Q: What has been one of your best experiences since being at Whitworth?
A: One of my greatest experiences at Whitworth was getting to be a player on the undefeated 2006 team. Being part of an undefeated season is a rare and special treat that I will relish forever.

Q: What professor at Whitworth has influenced you the most and why?
A: Dr. Pete Tucker has been the most influential professor for me in my time at Whitworth. I have been lucky enough to take over half my computer science classes from him. His drive to help students succeed in both school and the industry has been a big part in my being able to go into my final semester with a signed job contract for when I graduate.

Q: What is one of your favorite activities during the off-season?
A: I grew up a country boy and that is where I have the most fun. My family owns horses and mules and some of my favorite vacations are the pack trips we make into the wilderness. I also really enjoy off-roading in either trucks or ATVs. (Even though it has gotten me into some trouble.)

Q: Do you try to follow a specific diet during the football season?
A: For the season, and training, I do try to follow a bit of a diet. I don’t care for protein shakes, pills, or powders but I do try to maximize my protein intake the natural way (Translation: meat meat meat). I am not really much of a chocolate man so I really don’t eat a lot of desserts at all and I try (and fail) to lay off the caffeine.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?
A: Not quit my day job. I do really enjoy my chosen field so I would keep working. Plus I can’t really force myself to just lie around all day. My favorite purchase would be the land here and in Montana for some outdoor playing. Finally, I would donate a good chunk to charity and the church.
