NORTH PLAINS, Ore. - Led by a pair of top-five individuals, Whitworth came back from six strokes down after the first round to win the Pacific Men's Invitational on Sunday. The event was held on the Ghost Creek course at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. Click here for a PDF of complete results. Whitworth trailed Linfield by six strokes (307-313) after the first round, before posting a second round team score of 300 to defeat the Wildcats by a single stroke (613-614). Jordan Carter finished second individually, shooting a 78-74 for a two round total of 152. Andrew Parrott tied for third with a two round score of 78-75 -- 153. James Dykes and Bobby Elder helped fuel the second round comeback with rounds of 75 and 76, respectively. Colin Fling shot 77 in the second round for a two-round total of 84-77 -- 161. Pacific Lutheran's Brian Misterek earned medalist honors, shooting 74's in both rounds to card a combined score of 148. Pacific Invitational All eight NWC teams will face each other again Sunday and Monday as they compete in the Northwest Conference Spring Classic at the Wildhorse Golf Course in Mission, Oregon. The tournament is one of three counting tournaments towards the NWC championship. Whitworth won the Fall Classic in October to gain a foothold on retaining its Northwest Conference title.
