Pirate Pirate Women Compete Well at Spring Classic

MISSION, Ore. - Led by a top-five finish from Kelli Parker, the Whitworth College women took fifth place at the Northwest Conference Women's Spring Classic, held at the Wildhorse Resort Golf Course over the weekend.

Whitworth shot a two-day total of 483-484 - 967. The Pirates were fifth in the final team standings after Willamette did not field a complete team and PLU and Lewis & Clark did not participate.

Parker shot a two-day total of 83-96 - 179. She tied for fifth place in the individual standings.

Linfield's Leslie Wheeler earned medalist honors, shooting a two-day total of 164.

The Pirate women will be back in action again on April 8 and 9 at the Pacific Invitational. The tournament will take place at the Quail Valley course in Hillsboro, Ore.
