CLARKSTON, Wash. - Struggling on the second day of competition, the Whitworth men's golf team finished seventh at the Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho) Invitational with a score of 643. The Pirates shot 312 on Monday's first day of play at the Clarkston Golf and Country Club (Par 72, 6,653 yards), behind the round of 73 by Andrew Parrott. But the Whitworth score on Tuesday went to 331 on a windier day. Jordan Carter had the team's best round (77). The final team scores were: University of Victoria 613, Walla Walla CC 621, Lewis-Clark State 624, Concordia 625, CC of Spokane 632, Rocky Mountain 641, Whitworth 643, Northwest Nazarene 655, Lethbridge 661. The Whitworth scores were: Parrott 73-81–154, Carter 85-77–162, James Dykes 77-87–164, Sean Thompson 78-86–164, Steven Johnson 84-87–171. The Pirates return to action April 1-2 at the NWC Spring Classic in Tacoma, Washington. The Spring Classic will count one quarter toward the final conference standings.
