YAKIMA, Wash. - Getting a first look at the course that will host the 2008 NWC Men's Golf Tournament, the Pirates earned a one stroke victory on Sunday afternoon at Apple Tree Golf Course behind the play of Patrick Dorsing, who took home individual medalist honors.
The Pirates finished first out of a field of five schools with a score of 310. The remaining scores were: Puget Sound 311, Pacific Lutheran 315, Pacific 327, Whitman 352. Dorsing (So., Royal City, Wash.) shot a score of 72 for even par. He finished one stroke ahead of PLU's Jason Casey and three strokes up on teammate Jordan Carter (Sr., Woodinville, Wash.), who finished with a round of 75. The remaining Whitworth scores were: Ryan Young (Fr., Mill Creek, Wash.) 81, Andrew Parrott (Sr., Scottsdale, Ariz.) 82, Connor McCracken (Fr., Eagle, Idaho) 83, and Sean Thompson (Sr., Greenacres, Wash.) 84. Whitworth's final warmup before the NWC Tournament will be the CC of Spokane Bigfoot Invitational on April 13-14.
