Frank DeNoewer Leads Pirates in his First Collegiate Tournament LACEY, Wash. - Teeing off for their first tournament of the 2009-10 schedule, Whitworth University finished 16th out of 19 teams at the St. Martin's University Invitational this weekend at Hawks Prairie GC. Whitworth shot 318 as a team on Friday, and improved to 312 on Saturday for a total of 630. The host Saints won the tournament with a two-day score of 583. Fellow NWC member Puget Sound finished 13th (tie) with a final tally of 621. DeNoewer, a freshman, shot 71 on Friday to tie for the second best round of the day. He finished with an 80 on Saturday for a total of 151 (tied for 36th overall). Cameron Whittle, a junior transfer from Walla Walla CC, was 58th individually with a two-day total of 76-81 - 157. Jared Descoteaux, a freshman from Spokane, shot 81-79 - 160 (tie for 75th), Christian Boudreau, another freshman, shot 90-77 - 167 (tie for 91st). Ryan Young, a junior, went 92-76 - 168 for a final place of 93rd (tie). Zack Dietz of St. Martin's was the individual medalist with a score of 71-69 - 140. St. Martin's Invite Men's Results.
