Whitworth stomps George Fox 7-0

SPOKANE, Wash. - (From Scott Churchill, Whitworth SID Intern) Whitworth College (10-1-1, 7-0-1 NWC) defeated George Fox University (2-10, 1-7 NWC) by the score of 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Whitworth Soccer Field.

Ali Seyedali assisted on the first two goals

The first goal of the game was an own goal by the Bruins to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead. The other two Whitworth first half goals were scored by Niko Varlamos and Todd Sabrowski at 13:47 and 40:15.

Whitworth fired in another four goals in the second half. Chris Johnson, Tucker Hopp, Matthew Friesen, and Jordan Lister each put in a goal of their own to aid the Pirates in a victory.

Ali Seyedali, Jon Carlson and Curtis Flournoy each had a pair of assists for Whitworth.

The Pirates out shot the Bruins 23-5 with George Fox keeper Bryce Warren making two saves and Whitworth keeper Kevin Bostock making three.

George Fox University will continue play tomorrow at Whitman and Whitworth hopes to stay undefeated in league when they host the Willamette University Bearcats. Both games will by played at 2:30 pm.
