SPOKANE, Wash. -- Whitworth goalkeeper Kevin Bostock (Sr., Whitefish, Mont. - Whitefish) has been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII College Division Men's Soccer team.
Bostock, who carries a 3.68 grade point average as a political science major, has had an impressive fall in the nets for the Pirates. He has a 0.97 goals against average with six shutouts this season. He has been responsible for more than four saves per match. Whitworth enters the final match of the season with a record of 9-5-3 overall and 8-3-2 in the NWC. The Pirates can still finish in second place in the standings. The final match of the season is Saturday against Whitman. In the history of Whitworth's storied soccer program, Bostock ranks fourth in career goals against average (0.94), career shutouts (19) and third in total goals allowed (58). Bostock is now a candidate for CoSIDA's Academic All-American College Division team. The Academic All-District teams are selected from NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA players throughout the western United States. The players are nominated and selected by members of CoSIDA. To be eligible for nomination, a player must be a starter or important reserve with a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and of sophomore standing.
