SPOKANE, Wash. -- Whitworth College seniors Jody Rucinski and Ashley Fisk have been named to the 2005 All-Northwest Conference women's soccer team, which was released today.

Rucinski (Sr., D, Whitefish, Mont. - Whitefish) and Fisk (Sr., MF, Bellevue, Wash. - Overlake) are repeat selctions for the award.

Rucinski was a First Team selection in 2003 and a Second Team choice last fall. She anchored Whitworth's defense this season, limiting opponents to only 4.8 shots on goal per game. The Pirates' goal against average this season was 1.00.

Fisk repeats as a First Team selection from 2004. She led the Pirates, and ranked among the NWC leaders, in goals scored (7) and total points (16).

Whitworth finished the year with a record of 8-8-3 overall and 7-7-2 (fifth place) in the Northwest Conference. The Pirates defeated three of the four teams that finished above them in the final NWC standings and will return seven starters in 2006.
