Whitworth Ties Pacific in Double OT

SPOKANE, WA- The Boxers of Pacific University (4-1-1, 2-0-1 NWC) tied the Whitworth Pirates (3-1-2, 2-0-1 NWC) 1-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Penelope Crowe scored first career goal

Pacific scored first on a long free kick by Kathy Post that hit the far post and went in. Whitworth remained idle for another 30:00 until Penelope Crowe blasted the ball in the net, assisted by Whitney Ramsey and Greta Thibodeau, to even the score at 1-1.

Although out shooting the Boxers, 21-4, and in corner kicks, 7-1, the Pirates could not punch in another goal for the victory.

Shannon Tillman saved nine shots for the Boxers, while Pirate keeper Jen Miller only needed to save one shot.

Pacific continues playing tomorrow at Whitman and Whitworth resumes their action tomorrow at noon against the Linfield Wildcats.
