SPOKANE, Wash. -- Three Whitworth players have been named to 2006 NSCAA/adidas Division III Women's 2006 All-West Region Soccer Team. Jael Hagerott (RS Jr., MF, Spokane, Wash. - Mead) and Greta Thibodeau (Jr., F, Juneau, Alaska - Douglas) were named to the first team, while Penelope Crowe (So., F, Bellingham, Wash. - Bellingham) was a Third Team honoree.
Hagerott scored eight goals and added three assists this season, totaling 19 points. Four of her goals were match winners, tied for the highest total on the team. Hagerott was also a First Team All-Region selection in 2003 and a Second Team choice 2004. She missed all of 2005 with a knee injury. Thibodeau led the Pirates in scoring this season with nine goals and five assists (23 points). She ranks third in the NWC in both total points and goals scored. It is the first time she has earned All-Region honors. Crowe was the Pirates' third leading scorer with five goals and five assists (15 points). Her assist total tied for the team lead. She is also making her first appearance on an All-Region team. This group led the Pirates to a record of 12-5-2 this season and finished third in the NWC with a mark of 10-5-1.
