SPOKANE, Wash. - The Whitworth College softball team moved up one more spot in the NFCA Division III ratings this week to once again reach a new high-water mark in the rankings. The Pirates are now ranked 8th, the highest the team has ever been rated. Last week's previous high rating was 9th.
Whitworth appeared in the poll for the first time in school history on March 14th, making the debut at #20 in the rankings. The Pirates are now 25-3 overall and 20-0 in the NWC, holding a one game lead over three-time defending champion Linfield. Whitworth will take on Willamette (16-12 overall, 10-9 NWC) at Diana Marks Field this weekend in a four-game NWC series. The Bearcats dropped a 7-4 decision at George Fox on Tuesday afternoon in their last contest. |
