MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Whitworth College's Loren Killgore and David Dolphay did not advance past their preliminary heats on the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Dolphay (So., Great Falls, Mont. - Great Falls) competed in the 500-yard Freestyle and finished with a preliminary time of 4:51.23, well off of the 4:38.22 he posted at the Northwest Conference Championships last month. He was 36th in the prelims.

Killgore (Sr., Corbett, Ore. - Barlow HS) finished 25th in the preliminary heats of the 200-yard I.M. with a time of 1:55.03 and did not advance to the evening finals.

The meet will continue on Friday as Dolphay competes in the 200-yard Freestyle and Killgore swims in the 400-yard I.M.
