SPOKANE, Wash. -- With several of its swimmers resting for a Saturday afternoon dual meet against University of Puget Sound, Whitworth College swam to a pair of dual victories over visiting Pacific University on Friday night in the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

The Pirate women won the first seven events on the way to an 83-68 win over the Boxers. Whitworth did not contest the final three events. Marjorie Turner and Rebekah List each won their first events of the season for the Bucs.

Whitworth's men only had to win five events to beat Pacific 98-37. David Lillard swam to a season best time (48.34) in the 100 Freestyle. Evan Shute won the 100 Fly for Pacific in 55.24, edging Whitworth's Nathan Newberg (55.39).

Pacific will travel to Walla Walla to compete against Whitman College on Saturday, while Whitworth will host Puget Sound. Both meets start at 1:00 pm.
