Whitworth College dropped both matches during the weekend at Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran. The Pirates fell to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in the Northwest Conference. Puget Sound defeated Whitworth 6-1. Ed Anegon and Ben Works teamed to win 8-1 at first doubles. Works went on to win 6-3, 7-5 at #2 singles, but the Pirates could not get any more of the singles matches. Anegon split sets at #1 before losing 10-7 in the tiebreaker, while Jeremiah Collins also split before losing 14-12 in the tiebreaker at #5. Whitworth won only one doubles match in a 7-0 loss to defending NWC champion Pacific Lutheran. The team of Collins and Colin Storm won at third doubles by a score of 8-5. All of the singles matches were straight set victories in PLU's favor, witch the exception of #4 singles where Scott Bourne went to a tiebreaker before losing 10-4.
