TACOMA, Wash. - Whitworth University complete a regular season sweep of the Tacoma area Northwest Conference schools with a 7-2 win at Pacific Lutheran on Saturday afternoon.

The Pirates swept to a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Linh Aven and Rachel Burns won 8-4 at #1 doubles, while Justine Hays and Katie Staudinger earned an 8-5 win at #2 doubles. Taryn Smith and Angela Anegon completed the sweep with an 8-3 win at #3.

Burns pulled off an impressive win over PLU's Erika Feltus at #1 singles by a score of 6-7, 6-4, 10-7. Staudinger added a Pirate win at #3 singles by a score of 6-1, 6-2. Smith and Anegon earned Whitworth's final wins at #5 and #6 singles, respectively.

The Pirates (14-4 overall, 12-2 NWC) will return home to host Lewis & Clark College next Friday afternoon.
