SPOKANE, Wash. - Kristi Dickey has been named the 2006 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year for the West Region by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Dickey's ran the 5,000 meters in 17:44.00 at the University of Idaho McDonalds Open on February 18, 2006. Her time was the fastest in the region this winter. USTFCCCA member coaches voted on the award winners in the respective Division I, II and III categories. While Dickey has not yet run a 5,000 meter outdoor race this spring, she has set a new school record in the 10,000 and posted a strong NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a time of 36:17.27. |
