Florence Does Not Final in Javelin

LISLE, Ill. - Angela Florence finished ninth in her flight and did not advance to the finals of the javelin throw during the final day of competition at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois.

Florence, a junior from Yucaipa, California (Yucaipa), finished 9th in her flight of the javelin with a throw of 133'-10". She was not able to equal her entry mark of 138'-1". Lisa Brown of Gustavus Adolphus won the event with a throw of 154'6".

Florence was Whitworth's fourth and final competitor at the championships.

Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the women's championship with 52 points. Whitworth finished tied for 60th with 2 points, thanks to Kristi Dickey's seventh place finish in the 10,000 meter run on Thursday. Wisconsin-Lacrosse won the men's meet with 74.5 points. The Pirates did not score in the men's competition.
