TACOMA, Wash. - More than 40 of Whitworth's track & field athletes competed at the UPS Open today, heading into the college's spring break. Another small handful of Pirates competed at the Willamette Charles Bowles Spring Classic. UPS Open Results / Willamette Charles Bowles Classic Results Ben Spaun won the 110 high hurdles for the Whitworth men at the UPS Open. His winning time was 15.68. He was also part of the winning 4x400 relay (3:27.11). Cody Stelzer won the high jump with a mark of 6'-4.75" and Joey Van Hoomissen won the discus with a throw of 124'-6". Suzy Viducich led the Pirate women by winning the high jump (5'-1") and finishing second in the long jump (15'-6.75"). Kristen Dormaier won the triple jump with a distance of 33'-11.5", while Kelly Bradley won the discus with a throw of 110'-0". Jo E Mayer ran to victory in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:39.65. The Pirates will return to Spokane in time to host the Pirate Scoring Invitational next Saturday (March 31st). Whitworth will host Puget Sound, Lewis & Clark and Northwest Nazarene. |
