NEWBERG, Ore. - Kristen Dormaier's track season may continue after the Pirate junior improved her personal record in the heptathlon by over 200 points today at the George Fox Ultimate Multi Events meet.
Click here for complete GFU Ultimate Heptathlon results. Dormaier posted a score of 4,362 points by hitting personal best marks in five of the seven events. She finished only one point behind Pacific University All-America Brooke Barker (4,363). Dormaier's previous best score was 4,133 points set at the NWC Heptathlon in April. Dormaier had the meet's best results in the 100 hurdles (16.03) and long jump (5.27 meters). Her score now ranks 14th in the NCAA Division III rankings (pending results from other last chance meets around the country). The top 15 ranked athletes will advance to the NCAA Division III Championships May 24-26 at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. So far the Pirates have seven athletes with at least provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Division III Championships. They are Dormaier, Ben Spaun in the decathlon, Brandon Howell and Emmanual Bofa in the 800, Cody Stelzer in the high jump, Kory Kemp in the javelin and Jeff Kintner in the shot put. |
