TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Cody Stelzer tied his own personal record in the high jump, taking sixth place with a mark of 2.05 meters on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, which are being hosted by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Stelzer's (Fr., The Dalles, Ore.) jump converts to 6'-8.75", which equals his personal best mark, originally set at the University of Washington in January. While Nick Stanisavljevic of SUNY Brockport won the event with a jump of 2.11 meters (6'-11"), Stelzer's jump actually was the fourth highest. But fourth through seventh places were decided by the number of misses. Stelzer becomes Whitworth's first ever All-American at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. His three points tied the Pirates for 38th place in the final team standings. |
