Click here for complete results PULLMAN, Wash. - Whitworth sophomore Cody Stelzer broke an 11 year old school record and automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships when he won the high jump with a mark of 2.10 meters on Saturday afternoon at the Washington State Open. Stelzer's mark converts to 6'-10.75", which breaks the old Whitworth record of 6'-9.25 set by Dan Kepper in 1996. It also guarantees Stelzer a spot in the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on March 14-15 at Ohio Northern University. Emmanual Bofa was also a winner for the Bucs, taking the 400 meters in 50.44 seconds. Ben Spaun was a finalist in the 60 meter hurdles, finishing sixth. The Pirates will compete again next Saturday afternoon at the Blue and Orange Invitational hosted by Boise State University. |
