MOSCOW, Idaho - Emmanual Bofa and Michael Nahl made strong statements on Saturday at the University of Idaho Vandal Collegiate indoor meet.

Nahl finished second in the shot put with a strong provisional qualifying mark of 16.28 meters (53'-5"), which should be enough to get him into the championships.

Cody Stelzer, who had previously automatically qualified for the NCAA Indoor meet, won the high jump with a mark of 2.09 meters (6'-10.25"). Joey VanHoomissen finished fourth in the discus with a distance of 45.79 meters (150'-3"). Curtis Powell was fourth in the 200 dash (23.65).

Alyssa Thompson broke her own school record in the triple jump, hitting 11.30 meters (37'-1"). She added a fourth place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.58 meters (5'-2.25").

Dana Misterek broke the Whitworth indoor record for the mile while finishing fourth with a time of 5:22.96. Erica Cox added an eighth place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 13.08 (42'-11").

The indoor season is coming to a close for the Pirates, who are schedule to open the outdoor schedule next week at Willamette. The NCAA Division III Indoor T&F Championships will be March 13-14 at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terra Haute, Indiana.
