SEATTLE, Wash. - It was a small Whitworth University contingent that competed on Saturday at the University of Washington Husky Indoor Classic, but the pair of Pirates posted impressive times. Emmanuel Bofa finished fourth in his heat of the open 800 meter run. But more important, Bofa's time of 1:52.52 was an NCAA Division III provisional mark that currently ranks fifth nationally. It should be fast enough to get him to next month's NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships at DePauw University. Dusty Caseria also ran the 800, finishing fifth in his heat with a time of 1:54.32. His time is just off of the NCAA provisional cut of 1:54.00. The entire Pirate team will be back in action next Friday at the University of Idaho Vandal Collegiate meet. |
