PULLMAN, Wash. - Whitworth University sent a small contingent of athletes to the Washington State University Open on Saturday as the Pirates opened the 2010 Indoor Track and Field season. Aaron Jenkins had the best performance of the meet for the Bucs, finishing third of 24 runners in the mile run with a time of 4:33.42. Steven Acosta was close behind in fifth place (4:35.61). Jeff Kintner was the top Pirate in the field events on Saturday. He finished fifth (out of 29) in the shot put with an NCAA provisional mark of 51'-3.5". Kintner was an NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field All-American last year. Amy Wyatt was tenth in the women's shot put with a mark of 36'-7.5". There were 22 throwers in the event. |
