Spokane, Wash. -- Julie Marsh capped an amazing comeback personally and for the Whitworth College volleyball team when she was named AVCA Division III Third Team All-American today. Bekah Hornor was one of 60 players named to the honorable mention list. Click here for the entire AVCA Division III All-America Team (PDF). Marsh, a junior outside hitter from Cheney (Cheney HS) who transferred back to Whitworth from Western Washington University this fall, led Whitworth in kills per game (3.58), digs per game (4.31) and aces (35) this season. She hit .233 and was a First Team All-West Region and an All-NWC selection. Marsh was the only player from the Northwest Conference selected to any of the three All-America teams. Hornor, a junior setter from Spokane (Mead HS), averaged 11.24 assists per game this season. She was also the most dangerous setter at the net in the NWC, leading all setters in kills per game (1.7) and blocks per game (0.5). She was also a First Team All-Region choice and a Second Team All-NWC selection. The pair led the Pirates to a 19-5 overall record in 2004 and an NWC mark of 12-4.
