Rusch, Moore Earn All-NWC Honors

SPOKANE, Wash. - Whitworth University's Sarah Rusch and Cassie Moore have earned All-Northwest Conference volleyball honors in 2007. Rusch (Jr., MB, Walla Walla, Wash.) was named to the Second Team and Moore (Sr., Lib/OH, Spokane, Wash.) was an honorable mention selection.

Cassie Moore

Rusch, a transfer from Walla Walla Community College, led the Pirates offensively and defensively this season. She led the team, and was fourth in the NWC, in kills per game with an average of 4.18. She also averaged 0.86 blocks, which leads the squad and ranks sixth in the conference.

Moore, a four year player out of Mead High School, led the NWC in both digs per game (6.40) and aces per game (0.61). She broke her own single-season digs record in 2007 with 608, bettering her previous mark of 521 set in 2006. She broke the digs record despite moving from libero to outside hitter for the final six matches of the season.

Whitworth finished 11-14 overall this season and 6-10 in the NWC.
