Achievements and Impact
- Daniel Bacon participated in Whitworth's inaugural study program on "Religion, Peace and Conflict in Northern Ireland," gaining insights into the factors that both cause and defuse conflict, January 2006.
- Daniel Bacon authored a discussion guide for the film Crash in fall 2005 that is being used by resident assistants, cultural diversity advocates and other groups on the Whitworth campus.
- Tiffanie Beatty participates in Whitworth's Bonner Leaders Program, a service-based, work-study position that promotes student, campus and community development, 2006-07.
- Tiffanie Beatty accompanied Whitworth Assistant Professor of Math, Donna Pierce, to the Christian Community Development Conference in Atlanta, winter 2005.
- Michael Chansavang was selected for the highly competitive regional internship through the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, spring 2006.
- Michael Chansavang was featured in documentary to be released by North by Northwest Studios in spring of 2006 about Whitworth's program on Discerning Vocation: Community, Context and Commitment.
- Fa'ana Fanene was elected president of the Associated Students of Whitworth College (ASWC) for 2006-07.
- Fa'ana Fanene performed in the cast of Whitworth's original production of Mirror, Mirror focusing on body image, spring 2006.
- Sha'Nay McQuirter founded and directs Whitworth's student-led gospel choir.
- Delia Orosco worked for a semester in U.S. Sen. Patty Murray's office through the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities' American Studies program in Washington, D.C., fall 2005.
- Delia Orosco participated in Whitworth's Street Kids Project serving homeless teens in downtown Spokane.
- Sreyla (Sarah) Rim earned membership in Whitworth Laureate Society for students with GPA 3.75 or higher in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
- Sreyla (Sarah) Rim will participate in a leadership exchange with partner institutions in rural Chang Mai, Thailand, summer 2006.
- Lauren Thompson organized the Black History month educational exhibit for the Whitworth campus, February 2006.
- Lauren Thompson presented about Act Six at the North American Coalition of Christian Admissions Professionals national conference at Houghton College in Buffalo, N.Y., summer 2004.
- Bobby Walston completed a three-month internship with the Washington State Legislature, spring 2006.
- Bobby Walston performed in original cast of "Cootie Shots: theatrical inoculations against bigotry for kids, parents and teachers," a series of sketches that encourage diversity and tolerance, 2004.
- Tara Yi served as a Young Life middle school leader, 2003-2006.
- Mary Bulega received a full-tuition scholarship for the Intercollegiate College of Nursing as well as an internship and post-graduation job offer from MultiCare, one of the largest health-care providers in southwest Washington.
- Luan Ly served as a volunteer for En Cristo, providing meals and fellowship to homeless people in downtown Spokane.
- Marie Martelly was elected president of Whitworth's Catholic Club, 2006-07.
- Cam Tu Nguyen served as secretary for Whitworth's International Club and choreographed and performed a dance for the annual International Banquet, 2005-06
- Nissana Nov created an award-winning residence hall program on "Breaking Down Walls of Race, Gender, and Lifestyle" that confronts stereotypes through poetry, music and dance, fall 2005.
- Nissana Nov served as a World Relief tutor providing ESL instruction to a Spokane immigrant family, 2004-current.
- Denice (Lawanda) Randle spoke to National Forum of Leadership Foundation presidents in Minneapolis, MN, fall 2004.

- Denice (Lawanda) Randle was invited by Tacoma Public School central administrator to speak to district curriculum leaders.
- Victoria Trang received a full-tuition scholarship for the Intercollegiate College of Nursing as well as an internship and post-graduation job offer from MultiCare, one of the largest health-care providers in southwest Washington.
- Victoria Trang served as a small group leader in Whitworth's nationally recognized student leadership program, 2005-06.
