Whitworth University Orientation 2011
Welcome to the firehouse! We've shined up the trucks, coiled the hoses properly, and sharpened the flathead axes. Now we're just waiting for the bell to ring so we can slide down the pole and respond to the call! The potential for putting your training to the test is all around you as things on campus begin to heat up. Opportunities at Whitworth are endless – from the capture of a virgin pine cone as it falls from the trees in The Loop (maybe you can catch it in your firefighter jump sheet) to the hot zone caused by all the wooing around the campanile, to the spontaneous combustion created by the cheering section of the Booty Club at Whitworth football games. The hotshot crew members who've been here a while have created a fire code that will help you overcome the hazards in the years ahead of you. Sure, there will be times of volatility, but we've got the stream trained squarely on the fire, and there's nothing here that's too hot to handle. Our engine company of faculty, staff and student leaders will assist you with hooks and ladders as you engage in the numerous activities and programs at Whitworth. Fire up!
