Whitworth activities/clubs: Student leadership

Favorite quote: "It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity." –Dave Barry

Favorite guilty pleasure: I'm sure you probably have guessed from the quote above...

You'd be surprised to know that... I snort when I laugh!

Best class: C.S. Lewis. It's three wonderful hours of Forrest Baird teaching about C.S. Lewis, but it felt like it was only an hour because it was so interesting!

Favorite place or hangout on campus: The Back 40 and Pirates' Cove. It's my quiet place. It is a great place to get away from everything for a bit, to pray, or to just admire nature.

Favorite residence hall: Stewart! It is the hidden gem of Whitworth, truly. It has an amazing community and wonderful people.

Best Whitworth moment or experience: Working on a leadership team as an RA. It was an amazing experience, and I grew so much as a person and in my faith. It was great being on a supportive team and learning so much about the people I was working with. We became so close, and I will cherish those friendships forever.

Advice for incoming students: I know that when I came to Whitworth every club seemed so fun and interesting! My advice would be to get involved in activities and clubs that interest you, but don't try to do everything. It will become too difficult to juggle everything, and you may not enjoy everything as much. You have four whole years to try out the activities that you want to, so take your time! You will find those gems of fun that you love!

How Whitworth is preparing me for graduate school or a career:  Whitworth is not only preparing me academically, but it is also preparing me as a person. I am learning how to serve joyfully. I am learning how to balance and juggle life. I have challenged my reason and faith and I think they will only come out stronger.
