Anticipated graduation year: 2010 Major: Theology Hometown: Yakima, Wash. Whitworth activities/clubs: Astronomy and Science Fiction (Star Trek Club); The Breakfast Club (unofficial) Favorite book: The Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck Favorite music: Bad Brains Favorite food: Mexican Favorite movie: Red Dawn Favorite quote: "Since when has justice ever been as simple as a rulebook?" – Captain Will Riker Favorite thing about Whitworth: The professors are so helpful. Whitworth is very expensive, and I still will be paying for my education many years from now, but it's worth every dime to learn from such brilliant teachers. Favorite professor: Jim Edwards. The man can't help but be intense about everything. It's such a pleasure to study under someone so disciplined. He takes his work very seriously and he wants his students to work hard to a purpose; he doesn't give busy work. Favorite thing about Spokane: When the sun comes out, it's a good day. Why I chose to attend Whitworth: After I graduated from junior college, I held down a lot of different jobs and then I found myself doing full-time youth ministry. My experiences led me to see a high value in studying scripture and theology, so I decided to search for the best theology school that the Northwest had to offer. Thus, I chose Whitworth University. As a transfer student, I have found Whitworth to be a great place to become a student again! Advice for incoming students: Don't cheat yourself out of study time for anything! You'll always have time for friends after you sell yourself into scholastic bondage. Rock so hard on your homework that your parents begin to worry about you. What I plan to do after graduation: Pursue an M.A. in theology; full-time youth work.
