The Sustainability Challenge Event Calendar

The challenge organizers have selected a variety of educational events for participants to choose from; you are not expected to attend every event (but it would be awesome if you did!).)

Give yourself two points for each educational event you attend.

Earth Week (April 7-13)

International Sustainability Panel
Composed of Whitworth faculty and staff discussing sustainability on a global scale. Panelists will talk of their experiences overseas and the relevancy that environmental stewardship has for us today

Author John Francis will present. Francis gave up using motorized vehicles for 22 years and sees the current environmental crisis as a reflection of worldwide social and economic inequity

Recycled Art PrimeTime
Come participate in a PrimeTime that includes using campus recyclables to construct art projects of different kinds. Projects will be judged by Good Deeds for Trees and winning projects will be displayed in the HUB.

Make kites to celebrate the coming of spring and the beauty of the Spokane landscape

Author and salmon and river advocate David James Duncan will discuss restoring wild salmon while preserving farmers' livelihoods

Students will participate in a bartering market where individuals donate $2 to Good Deeds for Trees in exchange for blanket space to barter their clothes, dorm items, etc., with other students. No money can be used for bartering!
