Whitworth participates in Spokane County's commute-trip–reduction program encouraging employees to use alternatives other than driving alone to work.  Whitworth's green commuters have made a significant impact in the first three months of their year.

January:

1. 28 employees participated for a combined total of 275 days for the month
2. 936.2 miles not driven
3. 51 pounds of carbon monoxide not released into the atmosphere

February:  

1. 36 participants for a combined total of 324 days for the month
2. 1,526.5 miles not driven
3. 84 pounds of carbon monoxide not released into the atmosphere

March:

1. 43 Employees participated for a combined total of 387 days for the month
2. 1,908.2 miles not driven
3. 105 pounds of carbon monoxide not released into the atmosphere

Also, the members of the Cabinet will be participating in the Travel Green Save Green Executive challenge. They have committed to using a commute alternative at least once in April.
