Commitment to Diversity at Whitworth
Our goal is for Whitworth University to be a place where the richness of an
education of mind and heart is available to all people. As a Christian
university, we take seriously Christ's example of loving across racial, ethnic,
gender, socio-economic and religious differences.
We have not reached the point where we feel "content" regarding ethnic and
gender diversity in our staff, faculty, and student body. The good news of this
position is that it causes us to be focused and vigilant in seeking diversity
as a creative resource and a strength for the campus community. To that end, we
are committed to creating an environment that welcomes people from diverse
backgrounds, is supportive of difference, and, perhaps most importantly,
acknowledges that we all have things to learn from each other.
